Orbicular Films

My name is Tatiana Defries and I am an undergraduate studying film at Open Window University in South Africa. I am majoring in Film and T.V. with a focus on Production and Screenwriting. Throughout my educational career I have earned a high school diploma, awards for creative writing and I have taken courses in biological anthropology, social anthropology and introduction to desktop publishing and design at Vega, the school of brand leadership.

 

In 2012 I was given the opportunity to shadow my family member Kathleen Weir as an assistant script supervisor on an Irish television series. Some of my tasks were to help prepare and file notes for the editor on a daily basis. Shadowing continuity has helped me to develop a good eye for detail and a better understanding of the editing process. I believe this was the catalyst to realizing my calling in the world of film. 

 

Video editing caught my interest ten years ago when I became involved in animal rescue and welfare movements. Now that I am in my fourth year of film school, I have discovered that the process of editing still appeals to my desire to work with moving images. I find getting lost in the intricate process of editing footage and adding my own unique touch is incredibly rewarding.
